Welcome to the Farm!

The USDA recognizes Michigan as one of the premier sites in the world for growing black currants. The new (old) superfruits.

We started our farm with the firm belief that our community deserves access to the most nutritious fruits available.

That is why we endeavored to be the first commercial growers of black currants, red currants and gooseberries in Michigan, serving u-pick customers as well as the wine, liquor and food industries.

Please visit us and make Coon's Berry Farm your first step on the path to healthier living!

If you are planning to visit the farm, you may want to know our winery Currant Mist has recently become a host member with Harvest Hosts (www.harvesthosts.com). If your RV or camper is self-contained you are welcome to reserve your spot for an overnight stay on our beautiful grounds. Our winery is now located at the farm too, as an additional perk for your stay.

The 2022 berry season is coming up!

Black currants and red currants normally ripen up in mid-July, gooseberries - in early July. The season is very short, no more than a couple of weeks.

Raspberries start in early September and go until hard frost.

We will have both u-pick and picked-to-order black currants. To order picked-to-order black currants please fill out the order form in the Order Berries section of the website.

We will be delivering black currants to the following locations this season: Waterford, MI; Dexter, MI; Wheeling, IL; Columbus, OH and Lyndhurst, OH (Cleveland area).

Red currants and gooseberries are only available as u-pick at the farm. We do NOT take orders for those berries.
